IPL spot-fixing: The committees investigate

The Supreme Court's work was carried out by the two committees it set up. The first, headed by retired High Court judge Mukul Mudgal, was asked in October 2013 to investigate "corruption in the IPL". Its first report in February 2014 proved a case of betting against Gurunath and Kundra and gave a sealed envelope to the Court containing allegations against players and officials. The Mudgal committee's final report was handed to the court November 2014. Gurunath, Kundra, Srinivasan and IPL COO Sundar Raman were asked to respond to its findings. After listening two months of court hearings, on January 2015, the court asked retired Chief Justice RS Lodha to head a committee that would fix the punishment for those found in breach of the laws.
