merchant_parth,you could not be more wrong, sure the Indian attack isn't as it used to be, but they are better in their sportsmanship and honour.all of you saying that Kumble And the Fab 4 are gone, well you are wrong. you all try be out there in a pressure filled match, where it is hot and humid. you would not know tiring it is to play for 90 overs a day without making some mistake or the other. it's natural to make mistakes.why don't you all who mock Kumble become the captain of the Indian cricket team, then you'll know how hard the player's have it, especially the captain.

now,iam all satisfy with chappel's view over kumble's v.v.poor captaincy.i think we need a new agressive skipper someone like sehwag or msd,who atleast can set the field properly.now after kumble's performance as a bowler,i dont understand that if we need 3 pacers on mohali's bouncy pitch, then whom selectors will select for spin department?inform bhajji,or uneconomical kumble, who is unable to take wickets?he is captain, and i think he will be there in team, just because of this fact.Wake up srikkanth and co.

Get rid of Kumble...he has become a joke! And for the benefit of everyone who think they understand cricket but in reality don't....in the last two years, among the seniors: Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman, Kumble and Ganguly....Ganguly has the best performance (bar the Sri Lanka series). And he has already retired, still people are after him :) while the rest of the worthless "seniors" are being treated like heroes. The new "bunch of jokers" need to be bit more bold and show some spine!

Tomorrow the game's course will be decided by one thing: how long Sehwag stays. Simple.
There will be personal mini battles on the hand:
-Gambhir proving his worth in Test cricket by giving a solid knock. It can be just 60 runs, but shouldnt end with a stupid, flashy "oh I am a 20-20 player" stroke.
-Dravid scoring at strike rate of more than 35. He is in same rut that he was probably 5 years ago. But this time age is not on his side. IF he ends up playing a 29 runs in 108 balls kind of knock on this flat track, that will bring India's (and his) demise closer.
-Tendulkar has a huge mountain to climb(!) each time he steps out these days, but still the 70-something runs needed for the record will loom large on his head.
-Ganguly's motivation comes from the kind of trash talk he delivered, but it will be good to see a "dada" innings ( By that, I dont expect much, given the avg. of 42)
-VVS should just prove he is the best of this pack and get done with it. Someone send him 3 down atleast!

Anil Kumble is a great player. There is no doubt about it. It's just that as a captain, he is always on the defensive side. When the aussies get reall comfortable with the regular spinners, he has got to try new things. Like bringing in tendulkar and sehwag. Try giving some over to the part-timers. Tendulkar is a wicket taker. Give him about 10 overs and push the batting side under pressure. If the two reguler spinners bowl like 30 overs together, it's not helping India at all. When a new batsman comes in to bat, attack him. Don't let him settle in. All the easy singles will ease the pressure off the batsmen. And also, the indian fielding should be much tighter. They should be more committed in stopping the boundaries as well as the easy singles. Attacking the opposition is the answer.

Australia posted the Good first innings score but I still believe India performed really well after loosing the Toss in the slow and low pitch Especialy our Seemer performed really Well. Australians Although posted 430 runs on the board they were scored with the runrate less than 3 which is unusual to the Australian standards. Which tells us they were not really confident. Normally If Australians Played 150 Overs they may post the score of well above 600 but that doesn't happpen in this test match thats why India as a very good chance to comeback strongly in this test Match. India's chances of posting a big first innings score is in the hands of Veeru if he played for half a day tomorow he will take the game away from Aussies also It is good to have VVS at No1 to keep up the tempo of the Game.

People might say that the axe is on kumble after one bad performance but the fact is that he doesn't cause fear in the opposition camp any more.. day one or day 4, the fact is that if a rookie like mendis can cause havoc amongst the fab 4 then kumble and bhajji should atleast be half that good, which is anyways a shame if nothing more.. very one dimensional captaincy, lethargic fielding, no exuberance at all. time for a change for Indian cricket. many ppl would say no need to press the panic button but its high time we blooded fresh legs not necessarily only young but bring a different dimension to the team. only one;s who can still merit a place in the side are laxman and sachin. laxman still has smth in him to offer.. sachin well he can field better than a few more and definitely bat better than many others.. badrinath deserves a chance. now that we;ve picked him Mishra deserves a place. but dont c that happening before the 3rd test atleast. hoping for a spirited batting performance

Kumble missed the fifth bowler. Irfan Pathan or Praveen Kumar would have been ideal. Instead of selecting the eleven who are most likely to secure a win, emotion seemed to have played a major role. Gone are the days when India had no choice but to play three spinners. These days India's major wicket takers are Fast Men. Anil Kumble reminded me of a bygone era where the pace was for 10-12 overs and followed by spin. Also he did not use Sehwag or Tendulkar. Especially the former who bowled well for 4 overs or so on day one.

I think too much hype has been built around Fab 4 since the start of the Australian Tour. I have no doubt that for India to win a test match against Australia, Sehwag has to play well in that match. There's no Indian batsman who can create the sort of impact that Sehwag can. Tendulkar & Dravid can still score runs but can't create that impact to win a test match. Only Sehwag can do that. It's time we realise that we have a Fab 1 in the form of Sehwag who can win a test match on his own. He's certainly the best Test Batsman India has ever produced.

actually kumble was tactically wrong in taking his decisions . He himself was not bowling well nor did he got the support from other spinner .We cannot just make an excuse by saying that pitch didn't helped the spinners as sehwag was getting enough purchase from the wicket on first day itself . He should have used the experienced sachin, ganguly and sehwag so that he himself and other three bowlers could take rest for a while. His field placement while haddin was new and batting against harbhajan was also a negative one.
