An offspinner and hard-hitting batsman, Haq was promoted to open the innings during the World Cricket League in Kenya, a sign as to how Scotland aim to take advantage of the Powerplays during the World Cup. As a bowler he provides important control in the middle of the innings. One of his favourite moments in cricket is Pakistan's 1992 World Cup success in Australia, while on the field he was part of the Scotland side that beat Durham and Lancashire in the 2004 National League.
