Umpire
Bapu Joshi umpired in 12 Tests in India between 1948-49 and 1964-65. His second match, in 1948-49 against West Indies, was one of the most controversial. With India needing 11 to win off two overs, Joshi miscounted the penultimate over and only allowed five balls, adding to his blunder by calling time early while there was still time to bowl the last over. He was joint honorary secretary of the Maharashtra Cricket Association for more than 20 years.
